Building repairs is a very complex activity. Here you don’t enjoy the freedom of space as the building is fully occupied and functional. The normal methodology of the Architects and the Consultant is to suggest the entire re-plastering of the building without assessing the areas under threats of damages.

The re-plastering is carried out after removing the old plaster of the external face of the building. This involves lot of hammering which in turn develops further damages.

It is also agreed that no Contractor gives guarantee for the patch work plaster but merely replastering the entire surface dose not prevent the building from further damages.

The structure is always exposed to the atmospheric wear and tear and this gives rise to problems of leakages. This further leads to structural damages.

The source for such damages are from terrace, overhead water tanks, terrace parapet, inadequate provisions of rain water outlets, window sills, toilet block doors and window sills, faulty plumbing work with inferior quality of basic materials or due to ageing, architectural elevation treatments comprising of projections on external wall, terrace floor slab, terrace parapet top. It is important to properly probe into the possible areas of damages and execute the correct remedial measures. This is cost effective and adds to the beauty of the building and enhances the life of the structure.
